Music and art have influenced me greatly.  As a music student, I was obsessed by improvisation.  Improvising requires expressing one's mood at the moment with no time to review, perfect or reformulate a motif.  When I photograph, I try to do whatever is necessary to create the final product in the camera.  My feeling is that the film or digital darkroom should be used sparingly.

However, some of my favorite artists were Impressionists or Fauvists.  Many of my images almost ignore the actual form since it allows the imagination to run free.
